The work performed in an intensive care unit demands at times a higher level of lighting than a regular ward. Simple examinations can be performed by switching on and off an over-bed light positioned above the bed. For intensive examinations a separate arm-based examination light may be required. Unlike a reading lamp, it has a tungsten halogen lamp or LED illumination for maximum colour rendering and intensity. The ability to change the colour temperature is also a useful feature for different skin tones or to switch between tasks; for example, from checking overall colour to starting an IV. Examination lights might be mounted on the wall, ceiling, rail clamp, or on a mobile floorstand for maximum flexibility.
In addition to such examination and task lighting ValleyMed can also provide Headwalls, Service Columns, Articulating Arms and Equipment Management solutions, Radiology Protective products, Room, Corridor and Bedside Lighting, and replacement Lamps (Bulbs) for virtually every specialized application from phototherapy lamps for infant warmers to examination lights.
